I enjoy your writing very much Paula.

Sounds fascinating but completely exhausting (particularly Mumbai).

Thanks for sharing your experience about a place I probably never get to go.

Might I recommend making a stop in Khajuraho and in Varanasi. The temples in Khajuraho are famous for their erotic carvings. Every inch of them is sculpted in some way shape or form and for me, I found them more breathtaking than even the Taj Mahal was.

Also, Varanasi is a city that cannot be compared to anything in the world. Suffice it to say a boat ride on the Ganges river as the sun comes up is one of the most sublime experiences I have ever had. When you see the city waking up and going about their daily rituals you cannot be disappointed.

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing your adventures Paula. I had the good fortune of visiting London years ago, but I’ve never been to India. You write so eloquently and thoughtfully, with descriptives so detailed and so personal . . . well, you really brought all the sites to life - almost felt I was there!

Enjoyed this thoroughly!

Thank you so much for sharing! I'm in Seattle too and it was nice to take such a vivid, warm, and exotic break through your post! Alas, back to 45F, dark, gloomy weather now.
