Daynah Burnett, a Seattle native, works at Paula’s Choice researching, organizing and maintaining the databases for Beautypedia. After designing and teaching courses in writing, critical thinking and media literacy for several years at two universities, she believes strongly in consumer empowerment through education, and takes pride in the fact that Beautypedia gives consumers access to the information they need to protect their bodies and wallets from undue harm. Having watched far too many episodes of The X-Files, Daynah also likes to bring a Scully-like intensity to her Beautypedia research, and only wishes she could justify wearing a trenchcoat and carrying a large flashlight at all times.

Raising three lovely girls, a cranky Himalayan and a charming Boston Terrier (who has won the office over with his adorableness), she and her husband don’t exactly have to try to stay busy, but when Daynah does find free time she loves cinema, indie rock and all things food – all made even more enjoyable when shared with dear friends. Daynah completed an M.F.A. in Nonfiction Writing and Ph.D. coursework in Visual Studies, with her work having appeared in the Utne Reader, PopMatters, bitch and HipMama. One day she might just complete her dissertation, but for now her focus is on her career and her family, both of which bring her endless joy.
